It's time for another report on our homeschooling activities. I'm really happy with how things are going. The kids are learning tons and having fun. Bean is making great progress in math, reading and piano. He really likes to practice the piano. Today for "Making Day" we made a pillow for his bear. (He's really into making things for his bear.)
I've also been trying to gear activities specifically toward Fish instead of just letting him follow along with Bean's stuff. He really responds well when I do this. He especially likes it when I print off coloring pages for him that relate to what we're talking about. He also likes his own math worksheets, though he doesn't do much with them.
We are starting a new Geography unit on the New England states. There is so much to study I'm going to have to pare down most of my ideas, but I'm still trying to round up as many classic stories and picture books that take place in New England as I can. Like "Blueberries for Sal." Or, "The Cricket in Times Square." I would love suggestions from all of you.

We just read the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I think that's in New England and it fits right in with Halloween.
"Make Way for Ducklings" is a Boston story too.
