MY Little Ponies!

My Little Ponies first appeared on the toy scene in 1983. I was four years old and I loved them from the start. I remember saving up and buying my first pony with my own money at the local drugstore. I think it cost $3.00 and of the original 6 it was either Minty or Bluebell. I loved my ponies. I only ever had a handful, through I remember watching the commercials for all the accessories longingly. I remember when I took a brand-new pony I had just bought, Moondancer, to some sort of function and some other little kid stole it when I left it temporarily unattended. Oh, how sad I was! Moondancer had such pretty hair! Or maybe she had a scratch-and-sniff rump. Or one of those color-change decals. I can't remember. I just remember that I loved and lost.

Anyway, they did a 25th Anniversary reissue of the 6 original ponies in packs of three.

I bought Blue Belle, Butterscotch, and Cotton Candy. And Roo got to unwrap them on her birthday.

But they are NOT for her. No, they are for me. I haven't had this much fun with a toy in a long time.

The new My Little Ponies are weird looking. I love these. Isn't she beautiful? She looks like Emma Thompson in Much Ado About Nothing.

I think I need to order the other three. And then make them act out Shakespeare.

These are so adorable! I am getting on immediately to order some for Sophie! I can't believe how much cuter they are than the ones sold now....

We got you a Glo-Worm, too, didn't we??
My favorite eighties retro stuff was the Steven Cosgrove Serendipty books. Oh, how I loved every unicorn horn spiral and crystal sparkle!!
